Out back

Leaning overgrown trees from the alley and our next door neighbors' house drape our backyard with a peaked ceiling of leaves for three seasons. A woodsy retreat in the city.

Cool weather usually feels like a death knell, ushering in gray wet winter, but this year it feels like a relief, a sigh. We had a busy, expensive summer and I would very much like to sit out back the perfect weather in front of a (free) fire, draped in a (free cause I already own it) blanket, listening to Nick idly sing in a Kermit voice and play guitar.
